I want to get a helmet like Adam has. Does anybody know where I can get one or what it is called?
By: MsAshley28. on 06 Aug 10, 04:17:51
I get this image in my head of an aircraft flying overhead and seeing the water heater rocket go up in the sky. Jamie and Adame definitely come up with some cool things.

After watching this episode, I now check my water heater much more often. Does anyone else?
By: deceresent. on 04 Jul 10, 09:56:49
@monkeyman1140 it doesnt matter is it upside down or not.... that explosion was huge!
By: sirsuchjets. on 17 Jun 10, 02:57:39
I actually replicated this in my backyard. It's easy, all you have to do is replace the pressure relief valve with a plug. Ka boom
By: monkeyman1140. on 13 Jun 10, 10:10:58
I'll bet you they mounted the water heater upside down or modified it in some way. Water heaters are designed to explode upward. That is, the top lid is the weakest part of the water heater.
By: Jamescs007. on 01 Jun 10, 18:20:20
@alsander55 yeah but they disabled the pressure relief vavle
By: JimHolland8. on 31 May 10, 18:02:34

By: Sofar2. on 27 May 10, 09:17:23
I think it's funny that The Mythbusters' water heater rocket worked better than any of their actual rockets.
By: cliffsDover. on 20 May 10, 12:47:40
in the same epidsode, they are testing the shrinking jeans myth. When they do that, they also showed a short videoclip from a musicvideo. It's a dark man who sings something "your jeans are so tight" or something like that. Does anyone know the singer and the name of the song? :D
By: senstor. on 13 May 10, 10:10:24
owh...that mean im messed up too
By: cptstubing. on 07 May 10, 22:03:03
Jesus, these guys are messed up!! You hear how they laugh so diabolically afterwards??
By: notsocold95. on 06 May 10, 22:47:55
wow adam you laughed too hard lol
By: caspianhiro. on 06 May 10, 21:54:02
@alsander55 I think that is exactly the point of the myth. The water heater's valve fails, the tank builds up pressure, and WE HAVE LIFTOFF!
By: AutisticPersona. on 29 Apr 10, 04:15:37
That is frightening!!
By: MaurizioM89. on 28 Apr 10, 13:04:12
HOLY SHIT! Luckly we don't have an electric water heater inside the house! But i think it will be dangerous anyway, because here in italy lots of houses are made with bricks and cement
By: psilord5. on 19 Apr 10, 14:13:10
Look at the house. What house? i lol'ed
By: alsander55. on 13 Apr 10, 21:59:38
Sorry to burst everyone's fun bubble, but this is almost impossible to happen. Modern water heaters are supposed to have pressure relief valves, to prevent this from happening. The only way this is possible, is failure of the valve, or not installing the valve to begin with.
By: jamesdk09. on 12 Apr 10, 23:10:51
LOL! dat was AWESOME!!!
