@AJsfree2toke He died, during the dakar? in 2006. He was riding on one of the bikes for KTM - Repsol and on the 6th or 7th stage i thought, he came of and broke his neck. He was riding that year, without any preparation or anything because he got a phone call something like 2 weeks before starting the dakar, to replace an injured rider.

@remixx104 sigue habiendo un raid, con el mismo recorrido, no ha habido ningún ataque terrorista desde entonces, x esa norma no debería haber J.J.O.O ni mundiales de futbol, que? siempre están bajo este tipo de amenzas, eso de las amenazas es lo que te dicen para que te lo creas, pero de Argentina y Chile se trinca pasta, de Senegal no , xq no hay, el Dakar hacía una labor social y solidaria muy importante y necesaria en Äfrica muchos pueblos tenían para comer gracias a el, hoy no tienen nada.

@deif03 la carrera se saco de africa por avisos terroristas de locales,? una organizacion tan grande no puede permitirse correr el riesgo de un ataque a los corredores. la solucion de trasladar el dakar fue la manera que habia de proteger esta gran carrera y que no pierda prestigio. aparte, se eligio a argentina y a chile por sus paisajes y por lo que se tendria que recorrer, que se parece mucho a los lugares originales del dakar. el nombre??? para que cambiarlo, es la misma carrera informece.

Quiero expresar como usuario de youtube? mi gran desagrado con la actitud de la Organización del Dakar (A.S.O.) en perseguir y cancelar las cuentas de los usuarios que levantan los videos ya transmitidos por la televisión para que todo el mundo pueda ver las imagenes de esta gran carrera. La organización de la carrera solo hace videos oficiales de 2 o 3 minutos que muestra poco y nada de cada etapa pero pareciera que eso solo es lo que quieren mostrarle a la gente. Que lo vean pocos es su meta

several reasons I believe. Not sure but I think that? was the dual drive system, plus htey can change the engine everyday, unlike the 660. Im pretty sure the 45 and under are alllowed a complete engine swap each day.

@zooloo24 Okay, I did some? Googling to find out once and for all. First, Kenworth and many other companies that don't make their own engines use CAT engines. Caterpillar is primarily an engine and construction equipment maker. They sell Cat branded trucks in the US and Australia, but they are not cab overs. This is Marcel van Vliet's GINAF truck, which is a Dutch company that basically makes off-road versions of DAF's. That's a DAF cab, a GINAF truck, with a CAT twin turbo engine!

This competition is mostly a manufacturers competition there4 it is unlikely Toyota wud sponsor Mercedes, or DAF sponsor Volvo. So, truck at 1:37 is a CAT.

So I asked what kind of truck it was then, and someone listed all the various trucks that can be seen in the video, but not which was which. Now you? explain what Caterpillar is! I just want to know what kind of truck it is at 1:37! The other guy said the truck isn't a CAT, just the engine, so is it a MAN? DAF? We don't have those brands here.
